Education & youth

Inspire the next generation β€” in classrooms, youth clubs and beyond the system.

About the area

Education is the key to everything else. In this area, ESC volunteers work with children and young people in formal and informal settings β€” in schools, youth organisations, libraries and on the street. It is not about replacing teachers, but about adding what time and human resources make possible: individual attention, creative methods and genuine engagement.

Great for

  • Teacher training students
  • Education & psychology students
  • Youth workers
  • Anyone who enjoys teaching

No experience in teaching required

ESC welcomes motivated young people regardless of background. You learn on the job β€” what matters most is your willingness to contribute.

A typical day

What might it look like?

01

Morning in the classroom

You sit beside a 9-year-old struggling with maths. The teacher can't always get there. You do β€” and you watch understanding light up in her eyes.

02

Media literacy workshop

You have prepared an exercise on spotting fake news with a group of 15-year-olds. The discussion explodes. They have so much to say β€” they just needed to be asked.

03

Youth leadership training

You facilitate a full day with young leaders from five countries. You work on conflict resolution, decision-making and how to run projects. You learn just as much as they do.
