Social work & inclusion

Support people in vulnerable situations and help build a more inclusive society.

About the area

Social work and inclusion is one of the most common and in-demand areas within ESC. Here you work closely with people who, for various reasons, find themselves in vulnerable situations β€” this can include homeless people, elderly without social networks, children at risk, people with disabilities or young people who have fallen through the cracks of the system. The work is concrete, meaningful and often immediately visible.

Great for

  • Social work students
  • Education & psychology students
  • Anyone who wants to work with people
  • Motivated individuals without formal qualifications

No experience in social work required

ESC welcomes motivated young people regardless of background. You learn on the job β€” what matters most is your willingness to contribute.

A typical day

What might it look like?

01

Morning at the youth centre

You welcome teenagers who drop in during the school day. You help with homework, play table tennis and talk about the future with young people who lack positive adult role models.

02

Afternoon at a care home

You organise a music session and a memory cafΓ© with the residents. You help them call their families on the tablet. For many, you are their only visitor of the day.

03

Evening at a shelter

You welcome homeless people, serve dinner and listen. Sometimes you translate β€” sometimes it is enough just to be a person who truly sees them.
